Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals launched ChemIndia web portal and organised sensitization workshop

The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC), M/o Chemicals and Fertilizers has taken a reformative step in chemical inventory management, through of ChemIndia web Portal www.charak.chemicals.gov.in which will facilitate the collection of statistics related to various aspects of the chemical sector, such as Production, Installed Capacity, Export, Import, Purchases and Sales, etc.

The primary objective of this web portal is to elevate the value of chemical and petrochemical industries by streamlining data supply, fostering efficiency, and providing access to the latest sector innovations and technological advancements. It will also enable users, researchers, academicians, policy makers to generate swift visualizations and comprehensive reports tailored to the chemical sector's specific needs.

This initiative by the government shall enable a support system for promoting industries for best practices, create authentic inventorization of the chemical data system and enable geographical data support system to various stakeholders including policy makers, associated industries, researchers, academicians, etc

The launch facilitated by the senior officials of Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, National Informatics Centre, various industry associations and representatives of various Chemical and petro-chemical companies. The launch was in form of sensitization workshop hosted by FICCI New Delhi. The event witnessed active engagement and thoughtful questions by various industry associations and representatives of various Chemical and petro-chemical companies.

The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) has embarked journey of conducting akin ChemIndia portal sensitization workshop in various location such as Vadodara, Vapi, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad etc during the month of October and November, 2023.
