Redevelopment of GPRA Colonies by CPWD in New Delhi on track

To ease the problem of shortage of government accommodation in the national capital, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has identified seven GPRA colonies for redevelopment in Kasturba Nagar, Thyagraj Nagar, Srinivaspuri and Mohammadpur through CPWD and in Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Nauroji Nagar through NBCC. The redevelopment is being done in PPP mode without budgetary support from government. The important features of this project are use of modern and innovative construction technology and materials. We are using monolithic RCC Construction, self-compacting concrete, construction and demolition waste products and heat reflective paint. All environment protection measures are being taken during construction, such as anti-smog gun, sprinkling of water, barricading, covering of building materials and washing of vehicle tyres. Special attention has also been given to safety and health of workers. These include safety drill, toilets, medical facilities, crèches and strict adherence of COVID19 Standard Operating Procedure.
