Himanshu Shekhar, Senior Editor, NDTV conducts workshop on Social Media at Delhi School of Journalism
Delhi School of
Journalism conducted a workshop on Rise of social media emerging contents and representations on 9 April 2024.
The lead to the
workshop was provided by Himanshu Shekhar, Senior Editor at NDTV.
To the queries
of the participants Himanshu Shekhar identified key issues of disaster
coverage, ethical reporting, sensitivity towards victims, responsible use of
visuals, and the imperative to differentiate facts from speculations.
He responded to
the queries on the impact of Covid on social media and content and difficulties
faced by ground reports. He noted that in spite of difficulties reporters were
quite reasonable and responsible in their work. He underscored the significance
of adaptability in navigating the digital and social media realms while
emphasizing the need for media content representation based on rigorous
research and factual accuracy through appropriate examples.
The workshop was
organized under chairpersonship of Prof Jai Prakash Dubey Director along with
Dr Neha Nema, Mamta Siddhartha, Dr Atul Gautam and other faculty members and students.
