Everyday the teacher is compared on the scale of time: DU VC Prof Yogesh Singh
The
Vice Chancellor released the book ‘Bhakti, Samvedana our Manav Mulya’ written
by Prof Anil Roy
Vice
Chancellor of University of Delhi Prof Yogesh Singh said that teachers are
compared on the scale of time every day. “If you enjoy teaching then that is
the joy of being a teacher. Therefore, tension does not look good on the faces
of teachers.”
Prof Yogesh
Singh was addressing as the chief guest at the book release ceremony organised
at the Convention Hall of University of Delhi. On this occasion the book ‘Bhakti, Samvedana our Manav Mulya’ written
by Prof Anil Roy was also formally released. In the release ceremony, Director
of South Campus, Prof Shri Prakash Singh, Dean of Colleges, Prof Balram Pani
and Registrar Dr Vikas Gupta also addressed.
While
discussing the subject matter of the book, Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh
said in his address that the author has written more on the medieval period
(Bhakti period) of Hindi literature in this book. This period was the period of
India's defeat, the period of India's slavery and the period of glory of the
Mughals in India. Even during that period, poets like Tulsidas, Saint Kabir and
Surdas were writing devotional poetry.
The
Vice Chancellor said that it was a difficult time for the country, and when
circumstances are adverse, a person gives his best performance. This is the
reason why classic works like Ramcharitmanas written by Tulsidas were written
during that period. He said that Ram created Tulsi and Tulsidas installed Ram
in every home of India.
Singh
while discussing the title of the book ‘Bhakti,
Samvedana our Manav Mulya’ said that if sentiment is removed from
human life, life becomes like soil turns into sand without water. Regarding the
feeling of superiority in the world of education, the Vice Chancellor said that
this feeling reduces the feeling of compassion. He said that the things that
Tulsi and Kabir have said in a very simple manner are equally relevant even
today. The feelings of compassion and kindness of Tulsi and Kabir should be
implemented in universities also.
The
Vice Chancellor said that if students Praise a teacher, it will be the biggest
achievement in that teacher's life. There can be no greater happiness than
being praised behind one's back.
At the
beginning of the program Prof Harendra Singh presented detailed information
about the book after which the author Prof Anil Roy welcomed the guests. Prof Roy
said that this book contained compilation of some of his research papers and speeches.
At the conclusion of the program, Principal of Daulatram College, Prof Savita
Roy delivered the Vote of Thanks.
