107th Bihar Diwas, Bihar Utsav 2019 inaugurated by Tripurari Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industry, Government of Bihar

The celebration of 107th Bihar Diwas, Bihar Utsav 2019 was inaugurated on 22nd March 2019 at INA, Dilli Haat, Delhi by Tripurari Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industry, Government of Bihar. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Director, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar and Bhogendra Lal, Executive Director, BIADA, Government of Bihar also accompanied him. After the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, Tripurari Sharan also visited the various stalls of handicraft and handloom products represented by Bihar. The Inauguration of Bihar Utsav 2019 and celebration of Bihar Diwas was followed by a memorable Cultural evening here at INA Dilli Haat in Delhi.Tripurari Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industry, Government of Bihar said on this occasion that The Govt. of Bihar has been organizing this event every year in Delhi since 2010. He said like previous year, this year the exhibition cum sale of Bihar’s famous Handicraft and handloom is organized on larger scale and there are 110 stalls are exhibits here. He said that many projects have been started for the overall development of handloom, silk and khadi village weavers, which has helped employment generation by promoting production, training and marketing in this area.The Bihar Utsav 2019, exhibition cum sale is showcasing tourism, tradition, art, culture and cuisines of Bihar in Delhi highlighting the development of Bihar through 110 stalls of handloom and handicrafts as well as food stalls. Main attractions of these stalls are Bhagalpuri silk, Madhubani paintings, Sikki products, famous handloom bed sheets of BasBigha, wooden crafts and leather products. The “Food Court” features a menu of mouth watering Bihari Cuisines which include delicacies like Litti chokkha, Pusa Honey, Makhana kheer, Belgrami etc. People from different parts of Delhi are visiting to taste these delicious food items of Bihar. Moving ahead at the venue, one spotted multi – coloured stalls, featuring Madhubani paintings and sculptures, rows of elegant jute art, and jute bags, handmade Bhagalpuri shawls, bed sheets and saris with applique work, caught everyone eyes. Visitors purchased ethnic lakh bangles with Madhubani painting printed and jute Bags and many other products here.
