Indian Navy Showcases Maritime Prowess in Exercise Poorvi Lehar Off East Coast

INDIAN NAVY CONDUCTS EXERCISE POORVI LEHAR ON THE EAST COAST

The Indian Navy recently conducted Exercise Poorvi Lehar along the East Coast, under the operational direction of the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. This strategic exercise was designed to validate the Navy's operational procedures and readiness in addressing maritime security challenges in the region.

The exercise featured an extensive array of naval assets including ships, submarines, aircraft, and special forces. Exercise Poorvi Lehar unfolded in multiple phases, which included combat training in simulated realistic scenarios during the Tactical Phase and precise weapons firings during the Weapon Phase, underlining the Navy’s capability to accurately deploy ordnance.

A highlight of the exercise was the operation of aircraft from various locations, ensuring near-continuous maritime domain awareness across the operational area. The exercise also demonstrated a high degree of interoperability between the Indian Navy, the Indian Air Force, the Andaman & Nicobar Command, and the Coast Guard, showcasing seamless coordination among the services.
