Gen. G. D. Bakshi’s Book Launch by Lt. General Gurmit Singh at IIC New Delhi Celebrates Sanatan Heritage, Scholarship, and Service
New Delhi, 16th February 2025: The India International Centre (IIC) witnessed a grand literary and cultural evening as Global Sanatan Aid and Sanatan Aid India presented the launch of two significant books—A History of Hinduism and Beyond Fear – An Autobiography by Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G. D. Bakshi. The event, held at the Multipurpose Hall, was graced by Chief Guest Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand), along with a distinguished gathering of scholars, intellectuals, and military veterans.
A key highlight of the evening was the felicitation of leading Indic scholars, who were honored with the Shashwat Alankar Puraskaar in recognition of their contributions to Sanatan Dharma, philosophy, and culture. Additionally, Hon’ble Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh awarded several individuals for their dedicated service to the preservation and promotion of India’s ancient traditions and knowledge systems.
Among the esteemed guests were Lt. Gen. H. S. Lidder and Dr. Vivek Kaul, who shared their insights on the books and their significance in contemporary discourse. Maj. Gen. (Dr.) G. D. Bakshi’s A History of Hinduism offers a profound exploration of the evolution and depth of Hindu traditions, while Beyond Fear presents an inspiring personal journey of courage, resilience, and national service.
The event saw the presence of a large number of veteran Army officers and dignitaries, making it a momentous occasion that blended military service, scholarly pursuits, and cultural heritage.
